Great question. Today, for the first time ever, I'm going to answer it properly — by introducing The Dirty Dog Farm Proprietary Philosophy of Beef Greatness.

Beef is obviously not a new product. Grass-fed beef is a niche, sure, but it's not exactly unheard of. When you're in an industry that's existed since the first person clubbed an Aurochs to death, your competitors tend to get very set in their ways.

So our basic strategy is: look around the industry, see what everyone else is doing, ask "what can we do better?"..... and then just do that.

A lot of farms like to focus only on being regenerative, not using chemicals, etc. — while ignoring the quality of the actual beef. We think being regenerative is table steaks 😉. Our specific niche is bulk beef — half and whole cows. Traditionally, this is kind of a pain. You coordinate with a farmer and possibly a butcher separately. You find out how much beef you're getting at the last minute. You pick up at the farm, butcher, or maybe a vaguely convenient drop site.
