FAQs

IS YOUR BEEF GRASS-FED AND GRASS-FINISHED?

Yes! Our cattle are 100% grass-fed and grass-finished. They spend their entire lives outside on pasture. During the growing season (roughly April-December) they eat fresh grass, and during the winter months we feed them high quality dry hay.

DO YOU SHIP?

Yes, we ship to the following states....

Zone 1 (1 Day Ground / Free Shipping on orders over $200):

New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, Maryland, Delaware

If you are in Zone 1 you get free shipping on all orders over $200 (under that amount, shipping is $14.99).

Zone 2 (2 Day Ground / $25 per box):

Ohio, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Kentucky, West Virginia

If you are in Zone 2, there is a fee of $25 per box. We can pack up to 45 pounds of beef in a box, so only the larger Beef Shares would cost over $25 (a Quarter Beef comes in 2 boxes for $50, Half Beef in 4/$100, and a Whole Beef in 8/$200). The correct fee will automatically be applied during checkout.

Coming Soon (Express)

By popular demand, we're currently adding FedEx Express shipping options that cover the rest of the Southeast (all the way to Florida).

BUT YOU DON'T SHIP TO ME?

If you live west of the Mighty Mississippi, unfortunately we just can't ship to you.

The express rates are too high.

The waters are too powerful.

The country is just too darn vast.

But we will never leave a single 100% Grass-Fed Beef lover behind. So here are some amazing farms that can serve folks out west.

  • Perennial Pastures - California, Arizona, Nevada
  • Cosgray Farms - Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Arkansas
  • Downs Ranch - Colorado, Kansas, Nebraska, Utah
  • Beauty and the Beef - Montana, Idaho, North Dakota, South Dakota, Oregon, Washington
  • Ebersole Cattle Company - Iowa, Missouri, Wisconsin, Minnesota

All high quality farms, run by good people.

HOW DO I ORDER?

You have a couple options

Place a Ready to Ship order - If you want to try our beef (or top up your supply), we keep ground beef and some smaller bundles in stock. These ship weekly on Monday/Tuesday.

Reserve a Beef Share - These are our Bulk Beef Shares. Typically the wait list is a few months, so you can place a deposit to reserve your share.

Order Half or Whole Cow and get a FREE Chest Freezer - Our signature promotion. When you order your first half or whole cow, we will send you a freezer big enough to hold everything.

We accept all major credit cards, and take all of our orders online.

WILL I HAVE ROOM IN MY FREEZER?

1/8 Beef Share: requires approx. 1.5 - 2.0 cubic ft. of freezer space. This will fit in a regular fridge-freezer compartment. It will take most of the space, but will leave some room for other goods.

1/4 Beef Share: requires approx. 3.5 - 4.0 cubic ft. of freezer space. This will fit in a small chest/upright freezer.

1/2 Beef Share: requires approx. 7 - 8 cubic ft. of freezer space. This will fit in a medium chest/upright freezer.

Whole Beef: requires approx. 14 - 16 cubic ft. of freezer space. This will fit in a large chest/upright freezer.

We always recommend having a slightly larger freezer so it is easier to organize and access all your cuts!

ARE YOU SUSTAINABLE/REGENERATIVE/ETC.?

WHAT IF I'M NOT HOME WHEN THE MEAT ARRIVES?

If you choose shipping, your meat is packed in an insulated box with plenty of ice. It should stay frozen until you get home that day.
