    Frequently Asked Questions

    Tallow is the rendered down suet fat (also known as leaf fat) of ruminant animals like cows and sheep. All the tallow we use is from our own Grass-fed Cattle!


    Suet is the nutrient dense hard fat that’s found surrounding the animal’s organs, specifically the kidneys and loins. Beef suet is a harder, more crumbly fat than the rest of the fat within the animal, and it’s one of nature’s highest sources of conjugated linoleic acid CLA.


    Grass-fed is best! The tallow from cattle raised on a grass-fed diet retains much higher nutrient content than that of grain fed cattle, making it a skin super-food.

    Topical Magnesium has been shown to absorb much more easily than magnesium taken as an oral supplement, which can be difficult for some people to tolerate.


    Magnesium Chloride is the most easily absorbed and retained form of Magnesium, and topical application provides the most overall benefits.

    Tallow is full of stable fatty acids, and all of our ingredients complement its natural resistance to rancidity and spoilage.


    We recommend using your Tallow product within 6 months for highest quality, and storing your balm in a cool, dry environment.

    Our pure grass-fed tallow is carefully rendered  in small batches by hand where any potential impurities are removed. The rendered tallow is virtually odorless- perhaps slightly earthy-grassy smelling to a discerning nose.


    Radiant Face is infused with Organic Lavender and has a pleasant scent.

    Tallow is very similar to our skin's natural oil production (sebum) making it absorb very easily and deeply into the skin. It will never feel greasy or slimy on the skin!  


    Tallow has a comedogenic rating of 2 - meaning it is non comedogenic, making it great for oily, acne prone skin, as it does not clog pores.


    If you do feel that a Tallow balm is not absorbing quickly into your skin, you are probably using too much. A little goes a long way!

    This itchiness is often an initial reaction when Magnesium-deficient skin encounters the magnesium, resulting in blood vessels opening rapidly and causing friction under the skin. Consistent use of topical Magnesium will reduce this Response.
